The Observatory of Violations of\u00a0 Freedom of Opinion and Expression\u00a0 monitored and documented 31 cases\u00a0 of violations targeting trade unionists,\u00a0 students, influencers on the TikTok\u00a0 platform, bloggers, and ordinary\u00a0 citizens for expressing their opinions\u00a0 peacefully.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The persistent targeting of critical voices\u00a0 by the Tunisian authorities demonstrates\u00a0 a systematic pattern aimed at reducing\u00a0 the space for free expression in digital\u00a0 spaces. The judicial system continues to\u00a0 rely on broadly worded laws that allow\u00a0 wide interpretations, facilitating the\u00a0 criminalization of peaceful expression.<\/span><\/p>\n
