LGBTQIA+ individuals and women live under the constant influence of hate speech that permeates every aspect of their daily lives. This toxic narrative follows them everywhere—on the streets, in workplaces, on their way home, and even in digital spaces through social media platforms. It extends further, invading their private spaces through television screens and other media outlets.
This hate speech manifests as character defamation and the portrayal of these groups as threats to cultural and national identity. Such narratives deepen their social isolation and increase their exposure to harassment and violence. Hate speech dehumanizes LGBTQIA+ individuals, framing them as unwanted or undesirable, while justifying discrimination and violence through misleading religious and traditional pretexts. This rhetoric fosters societal division, perpetuating a dangerous “us vs. them” dynamic that undermines inclusivity and solidarity.
Nonetheless, nothing diminishes the fundamental rights of women—especially transgender women—and LGBTQIA+ individuals to live safely and with dignity. They deserve equality and full participation in public life, free from violence, discrimination, or exclusion. Every individual is entitled to fundamental human rights, including the right to a secure and dignified life, equality, freedom, and the ability to actively contribute to society without fear.
Upholding these rights is not merely a moral or humanitarian imperative—it is a cornerstone of building a fair and inclusive society that values each individual, regardless of their differences. In recognition of this vision, we have chosen the slogan “Citizenship Without Hate” to highlight the urgency of combating hate speech against women and LGBTQIA+ individuals and to reaffirm the importance of fostering respect, equality, and acceptance as essential steps toward a more just and humane society.
